1860 Bayview Ave – COMMUNITY MEETING – September 19, 2011 7:00 PM

A Message from The Broadway Residents Working Group:

Proposed Redevelopment at Broadway & Bayview Avenues

Your Neighbourhood. Your Community.

Dear Residents,

It has been a while since we have last sent out an update on the proposed redevelopment at 1860 Bayview. We have arranged the following meeting to inform the neighbourhood of the latest updates:

COMMUNITY MEETING – SEPTEMBER 19, 2011 7:00 pm
St. Augustine Canterbury Anglican Church,
1847 Bayview Avenue (NE corner of Broadway and Bayview)

During this meeting, Ben Daube, president of The Sherwood Park Residents’ Association (SPRA), will give an update on the negotiation process and the settlement agreement. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions and provide your feedback.

We have received a number of questions regarding the settlement between the City and the developer that was reported in the September issue of the North Toronto Post:

Essentially the Toronto City Council has voted to instruct the city staff to reach a settlement with the developer. Councillor Jaye Robinson proposed several amendments one of which would ensure that the city staff involved other parties in negotiating the settlement including the SPRA. Here is a link to the City Council decision:

For the last few months the SPRA has been negotiating and attending meetings which have culminated in an agreement between the developer, the City and the area residents. Details of the settlement and the process by which it has been arrived at will be explained at the public meeting on Monday, September 19th at 7:00 PM.
