Eglinton Crosstown Construction Update: CRANE INSTALLATION Leaside Station

August 23, 2019 – A large tower crane at Leaside Station Main Entrance will be installed over September 3th to 5th. To facilitate the crane installation, the work zone will expand temporarily to the west on Bayview Avenue from September 3nd to September 5th. One lane in each direction will be maintained on Bayview Avenue and southbound and northbound left turns will be restricted during the two days of work.

HOURS OF WORK

  • Work will take place on between September 3rd and 5th (September 6th is the designated rain date).
  • The work zone will be in place continuously from 9:00am on September 3rd to 7:00 pm on September 5th.
  • Work will occur between 7:00 am to 11:00 pm

TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • Bayview Avenue will be reduced to two lanes (one lane in each direction) south of Eglinton Avenue.
  • The sidewalk on the east side of Bayview will be closed during the operation. Pedestrians will be directed to cross to the west at Soudan Avenue to access Eglinton Avenue.
  • Paid Duty Police Officers (PDO) and/or traffic control personnel will be present.
  • There is no impact to existing TTC stops.

TRAVELLING SMART DURING CONSTRUCTION

  • Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.
  • Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Eglinton Crosstown LRT construction.
